Hon Idowu Distributes Insecticides, Herbicides To Farmers, Aims To Bolster Productivity

Hon Idowu Ibikunle Simon, the member representing Yagba West Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, has distributed insecticides and herbicides to farmers in Ogbe ward. The distribution exercise, which took place today, was aimed at boosting agricultural productivity in the area.

Speaking on the distribution, Hon. Simon noted that agriculture is a critical sector of the economy and plays a vital role in the development of the country. He stressed the need to support farmers in the area by providing them with the necessary tools and resources to increase their output.

The insecticides and herbicides were distributed to both indigenous and non-indigenous farmers, including those from the Tiv and Ebira ethnic groups. Hon. Simon said that the gesture aimed to promote unity and foster peaceful coexistence amongst all ethnic groups in the community.

The lawmaker urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the insecticides and herbicides to increase their yield, stressing that the support was not just a one-off event. He added that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to supporting farmers in the state through various intervention programs.

Receiving the insecticides and herbicides, some of the farmers expressed their appreciation to Hon. Simon for his kind gesture. They noted that the support would go a long way in boosting their productivity and improving their livelihoods.

The distribution of insecticides and herbicides to farmers is part of the efforts by Hon. Idowu Ibikunle Simon to promote agricultural development and support farmers in his constituency. He has promised to continue working towards the betterment of the people he represents at the state assembly.
