A successful operation by security operatives along Okunran/Okoloke area of Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State has led to the rescue of kidnap victims and the killing of a criminal element.
During the operation, one of the kidnappers was killed and the other escaped with a gunshot wound. The security operatives have continued to trail him.
The rescued victims were received by the Chairman of Yagba West local government council, Hon Tosin Olokun, and the Secretary, Hon Oluwafemi Victor Adeyeye, who expressed their gratitude to the security operatives for their bravery and for ensuring the safety of the victims.
According to an eyewitness, the security operatives had received credible intelligence about the hideout of the kidnappers and had successfully mobilized to the area in coordination with local security operatives.
The operation lasted for few minutes, in the end, the security operatives triumphed and rescued the victims.
Speaking to journalists after the operation, Hon Olokun commended the security operatives for their bravery, noting that their efforts had saved the lives of the victims and brought the kidnappers to justice.
He also urged the people of the community to continue to support the security operatives in order to rid the area of criminal elements.
The incident highlights the ongoing efforts of the Yagba West local government council to rid the area of criminal and other criminal activities in recent times.
