The Yagba West Local Government Council Transition Committee Chairman, Hon Tosin Olokun, and the Secretary, Hon Oluwafemi Victor Adeyeye, have embarked on a tour to communities in the local government area to donate bags of rice and rams to Muslim faithfuls ahead of the Sallah celebrations.

The tour, which took place today, saw the council officials visiting the communities of Odo Eri, Ejiba, Okoloke, and Egbe to distribute the food items to the residents.

Speaking during the tour, Hon Olokun noted that the gesture was in line with the council’s commitment to ensuring that all residents of the local government area are catered for, especially during important religious celebrations like the Eid-ul Ad’ha.

He said, “We are here today to ensure that our brothers and sisters who are Muslims and celebrating this important festival are not left out. As a council, we recognize the importance of this festival to our Muslim brothers and sisters in the communities, and we are making efforts to make it a memorable one for them.”

Hon Adeyeye, on his part, reiterated the council’s commitment to ensuring inclusive governance and urged residents to continue to support the council in its efforts to bring development to the area.

“We are determined to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt by all residents of the local government area, whether you are a Muslim, Christian or traditional worshipper. We urge residents to continue to support us in our efforts to bring about development to the local government area,” he said.

Residents who received the food items expressed their appreciation to the Chairman who doubles as Kogi State ALGON Chairman and urged them to continue to prioritize the welfare of the people.
